The Betting Crunch

Sweeeeep!

07/02/2012

Well the Superbowl betting went well, very well!

As the americans would put it, we had a clean sweeeeeep by going against the public as the New York Giants not only beat the handicap but also won the match outright too. Even though I had money riding on it I still couldn’t quite get into the Super Bowl and it felt like things were just happening and I had no clue why!

In the end I fell asleep shortly after half time but it was nice to wake up to a good bit of profit in my account in the morning.

Its nice to have one of these contrarian style bets go our way for once as the main problem with betting in this way is that you end up feeling a bit silly when the favourite does romp home.

The one thing that struck me about the Superbowl was the number of “prop” bets available. You could have money on a silly amount of silly things which is how the bookies make their money I guess. Those are the type of bets I like to call entertainment bets. I would never recommend doing them with an expectation to profit but if they might spice up a big occasion then I certainly wouldn’t frown upon it.
